Roberts Radios were known as the Rolls Royce of radios. They were made of a wood construction covered in Rexene or Leatherette. The available colours were Tan, Red, Blue and Green. These early transistor radios have proved so popular that the Roberts company now manufacture copies under the Revival name.
This site is dedicated to the early transistor radios with their rich sound and
clean design. The
thing to remember about renovated radios is that they are still around, 40 years
old and original. I remember reading the words of a radio restorer who said of
any renovation “ It should be invisible from 6ft but obvious from 6 inches”
